There are three decks labeled Encounters, Treasure, and Artifacts. Shuffle them separately and place them face-down in the center of the table. Leave space next to the encounters and treasures for discard piles.

There are also six stacks of scrolls and potions. Place these in face-up stacks above the draw decks. These will be used if you craft these items from treasure you find as the game progresses. (see Crafting)

Place the monster health tracker card near the center of the table.

Finally, read the text of the card labeled "Welcome to Hordes of the Labyrinth".
